Vixen Phillips was born in Ballarat, Australia, in 1975. Mostly, she writes, programs computers, and plays guitar and keyboards, but in former lives she’s also worked as an audio engineer, in & around various media production studios, as a graphic designer, and in computer sales.

Trapdoor is her first novel, but she has also released a novella, Narcissism, and is working on a new dark steampunk work of fiction, The Amorpheum Key, due in 2011.

Set in Melbourne during the late 90s, Trapdoor a novel by Vixen Phillips is a story of the obsessive forbidden love between Raven and Pegasus. The novel features adult themes, coarse language, homoerotic content, violence, and self-harm, suicide & drug references. It might broadly be defined as original yaoi or original slash fiction.

In late November 2010, a re-edited, remixed version of the story was completed and published by Lost Violet Press. This edition is now available for purchase as an e-book or paperback book. You can also still read the first twelve chapters of the story for free.
